FOREST PARK — Two women accused of luring johns and robbing them are now also charged with the Dec. 21 murder of a Covington man in Forest Park.

According to Maj. Chris Matson of FPPD, police responded to a report of a man down at the Forest Arms Apartments around 1:57 p.m. on Dec. 21. Officers found Mario Rashaad Edwards, 28, of Covington, dead in a vacant apartment, apparently of a gunshot wound.

Matson said an ongoing investigation “led to the identity and arrest of two individuals. Ashanti L. Dorsey and Keira M. Williams have been charged in Mario’s death,” and that more arrests are possible.

Dorsey is in the Clayton County Jail on malice murder and aggravated assault charges. Williams and Cameron Jones, 20, are charged with the shooting death of Roderick Crawford of Barnesville in Upson County and then allegedly dumping Crawford’s white SUV in Clayton County off Grant Road near Tanner.

More details are likely to be released Monday as various law enforcement agencies coordinate a joint press conference.

Anyone with further information about these crimes is asked to contact the Forest Park Police Department at (404) 366-4141.
