Unidentified man found shot in College Park

College Park Police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old man who was found lying face down in the grass, apparently dead of a gunshot.

RIVERDALE — A Clayton County Police Department officer en route to a priority one emergency call was involved in a three-car accident in Riverdale on June 22.

The accident happened on Ga. Highway 85 and Bethsaida Road, which is near the Panda Express and the Walmart where Bethsaida Road turns into Lamar Hutchinson Boulevard. According to CCPD, a minivan hit the the officer’s car as he was crossing the intersection. The patrol car then spun out into oncoming traffic, where it was hit head-on by another vehicle.

All three drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals. CCPD has declined to identify the officer and the case is under investigation as of press time.
