MORROW - The parking lot at Walmart was a setting for girls of all ages Saturday as they converged on a pink bordered area to attend the Barbie ‘Be Anything’ Tour which is being held by the doll maker, Mattel, to celebrate 60 years of inspiring girls to reach their career potential.
Morrow Walmart was one of 34 parking-lot locations across the country that the traveling pop-up tour made a stop to inspire girls to be anything they want to be.
Elana Meyers Taylor, a triple Olympic bobsled medalist, was honored at the event with a meet and greet session. She told her life's story and answered questions during a brief interview with program emcee Britney Clark. Taylor spent the remaining time taking pictures with her fans and their families.
Barbie enthusiasts had opportunities throughout the day to explore different careers in the 'You Can Be Anything dress-up zone,' look at some original Barbie career dolls, ride bicycles at a designed riding course, do Barbie hair makeovers, dress Barbie in her many fashions that have lasted throughout the years, and make dream weavers from a card design and colored yarn.
