JONESBORO — At least 16 people, including three alleged pimps, were arrested on prostitution-related charges in Clayton County leading up to the Super Bowl.
Arrested on Jan. 29 were Tierra Marie Davis, 22, of College Park; Lyndon Denzel Franklin, 21, of Ellenwood; Jeremy Dale Grubaugh, 23, of Jonesboro; Michael Powell, 35, of Morrow; Shanice Karen Simmons, 20, of Fayetteville; Christopher M. Whittington, 24, of Jonesboro; and Keith Kinard Williams, 35, of Riverdale.
Davis, Grubaugh, Simmons and Whittington were charged with prostitution, while Franklin and Powell were charged with prostitution - pandering.
Williams is charged with two counts of prostitution - pimping. His next appearance is Friday before Judge Tammi Hayward at 8:30 a.m. on the Jail/Probation Calendar.
In addition, Franklin, Powell and Whittington were charged with marijuana possession less than 1 ounce. Franklin, who was on probation for 2016 charges of possessing a pistol without a license, theft by receiving and marijuana possession under 1 ounce, has a bond forfeiture hearing scheduled for March 14 at 8:45 a.m.
Several others were arrested on Jan. 30, including Kadeem Damari Valentine Beaton, 23, of College Park; Kareem Lamar Cain, 38, of Atlanta; Johnerton Blake Gilstrap, 20, of Atlanta; Nayqwan David Hinton, 23, of Union City; Kareem Jahkim James, 31, of Lithonia; Nicson V. Joseph, 37, of Doraville; Jacob Michael McCarter, 27, of Riverdale; Abdul Salami, 30, of Atlanta; and Senetra Roiunique Shuler, 19, of Jonesboro.
Beaton, Cain, James, Joseph and Shuler were charged with prostitution, while McCarter and Salami were charged with prostitution - pandering.
Gilstrap and Hinton were charged with prostitution - pimping. Gilchrist’s case was bound over to State Court on Jan. 31. Hinton’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 12 at 8 a.m. before Magistrate Court Judge Judge William West.
