JONESBORO — Having had no luck in trying to identify a hit-and-run victim by his tattoos, the Clayton County Police Department is releasing a sketch of the man.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation created the sketch of the victim after investigators were unable to identify him. The Specialized Traffic Accident Reconstruction (S.T.A.R.) Unit is working the case.

Police say the victim was “fatally struck while in the area of Valley Hill Road and Mockingbird Trail” in Jonesboro around 12:45 a.m. on March 4.

He is an African-American male, between 14 and 19 years old, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 160 to 190 pounds.

Last week, the News reported the story and provided enhanced versions of the victim’s tattoos. One tattoo is the word “ACE” with what appears to be a teardrop beneath it. The other is difficult to make out, but could be the letters “KIA” or “HA” or “YH.”

If you recognize the man in the sketch or his tattoos, Clayton County Police ask you to call Sgt. Flaherty at (770) 473-3932 or Ofc. Faulkner at (678) 610-4724.
