JONESBORO — Girl Scouts Courtney Johnson and Camille Johnson, both members of Troop 426, and Ariel Greenway, a member of Troop 10340, have made a commitment to bring birthday joy to the residents at The Palms at Lake Spivey. Their theme is "Never 2 Old To Party." Every month they share personalized birthday cards, balloons and cupcakes with the residents of The Palms as part of their work toward earning their Silver Award. They chose this public service activity to help make a difference in their community.

On Saturday, they celebrated with the September birthday residents. While visiting, they met a resident who shared that she was the first Girl Scout troop leader in Jonesboro, more than 40 years ago. To make it even more special, she shares the same birthday as Camille and Courtney.

The Scouts said they hope that others will see their work and will be inspired to adopt another senior assisted living facility or nursing home so the other residents can enjoy their special day.

Camille & Courtney attend Martha E. Stilwell High School. Ariel attends Elite Scholars High School.
