FOREST PARK — Forest Park Police say two officers and a K-9 made a big drug bust on Ash Street last Thursday.
Ash Street is a major thoroughfare between Forest Parkway and Morrow Road. The Ash Street Center school, which serves students with autism and emotional and behavioral issues, is in the 5200 block.
According to FPPD, Officer J. Arnold stopped a vehicle in the 5400 block of Ash Street after it allegedly sped through a school zone. "Based upon the driver's behavior, K9 MPO N. Gray and K-9 Officer Yoeri were called to the scene. K-9 Officer Yoeri indicated on the vehicle for the odor of narcotics. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and drugs were located."
Altogether, police say K-9 Yoeri helped them seize 14.5 grams of methamphetamine, 10.2 grams of powder cocaine, 1.3 grams of crack cocaine, 3 grams of marijuana and 31.4 grams of MDMA (ecstasy), along with a scale, plastic bags, meth pipes and cash.
As of press time, the suspect could not be found in online jail records.
K-9 Yoeri also recently helped the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol in a big drug bust.
