Keep Riverdale Beautiful plans city-wide cleanup

RIVERDALE — As part of the Great American Cleanup initiative, Riverdale will host its first-ever Keep Riverdale Beautiful City-Wide Community Cleanup.

The event is set for Saturday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by a block party for volunteers catered by This Is It BBQ & Seafood at the Riverdale Town Center from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to help clean up the following areas:

• Riverdale Walmart Supercenter

• Merchants Plaza (Kroger, DTLR)

• BB&T/H-Mart/Family Dollar (Ga. Highway 85 and Adams Drive)

• Taylor Road (Old Riverdale Cinemas and Fire Station Campus)

Keep Riverdale Beautiful is teaming up with local businesses and communities for the city-wide cleanup. Republic Services is helping out by placing Dumpsters at several high litter index areas in the city to aid in disposal of collected trash and debris.

Residents and community groups can register online to host their own community cleanup event on Saturday. For more information, or to register as a volunteer, visit www.riverdalega.gov/458/keep-Riverdale-Beautiful or call 770-909-5479.
