MORROW — Residents of the Brookwood Estates subdivision in Morrow can rest a little easier following the Thursday morning arrest of a juvenile suspect who police say broke into eight vehicles in one week.
Morrow Police say the 14-year-old suspect allegedly broke into four cars on Sunday, Sept. 8, one on Monday, Sept. 9 and three on Wednesday, Sept. 11. All the break-ins were on the same street, police say.
At Tuesday's City Council meeting, Mayor Jeff DeTar remarked on the rash of break-ins, which Chief James Callaway said his officers were working at the time.
"Needless to say we, have been working on this around the clock since it began," Callaway said. "We put several plans into action early on. Those plans paid off this morning when our M*PACT and CID Units caught this 14-year-old."
Police say the suspect was taken to youth detention and will face charges.
