JONESBORO — A recent Mundy’s Mill High School graduate has been awarded the Stamps Scholarship.

Janeisha Cambridge of Jonesboro is one of 218 students nationwide to be chosen from 254,000 applicants. She will attend Barry University in the fall to study international business and marketing.

Stamps Scholars are chosen for their academic excellence, leadership experience and exceptional character. The scholarship covers the total estimated cost of a four-year undergraduate degree.

“Through our partnerships with these great universities and colleges, we are able to support some truly outstanding young people as they pursue their goals,” said Roe Stamps, founder and chairman of the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation. “This year’s group of new students join us at a time when our alumni network has grown stronger and more capable to be leaders in innovation across STEM, humanities, business and other fields.”

Education reporter Heather Middleton joined the Clayton News and Henry Herald in 2002.
