UPDATE: One killed, one injured in Riverdale domestic shooting

RIVERDALE — One man is dead and another was injured following a shootout Wednesday that police believe originated in a domestic dispute.

The Riverdale Police Department responded to the area of Valley Hill Road and Worthington Drive around 10:50 a.m. in response to a call. Witnesses told police two men exchanged gunfire in front of 6810 Worthington Drive, according the department.

“Preliminary investigation has revealed the incident appears to be domestic related,” Riverdale Police spokeswoman Lt. Nicole Rabel stated in a press release.

Both men were transported to Southern Regional Medical Center, Rabel said. One of the men, identified as 20-year-old Remi Williams, died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The second man, 25, is currently in critical condition and is “still in the hospital clinging to life,” Chief Todd Spivey said Friday.

The incident is currently under investigation with the Riverdale Police Department.
