RIVERDALE — Clayton County Public Schools will kick off the 2019-20 school year on Aug. 5.

To get kids and parents ready, the district is hosting its 3rd Annual Back to School Bash on July 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at Charles Drew High School and Southern Crescent Stadium, 6237 Garden Walk Blvd. in Riverdale.

There will be food, games, information, give-a-ways and more. Students should bring their 2018-19 end of year report card to receive give-a-ways. Attendees are asked to register at the following link: tinyurl.com/CCPSBack2SchoolBash.

Then on July 28, Commissioner Gail Hambrick is also hosting a Back to School Bash from 4-7 p.m. at Flat Shoals Park, 1915 Flat Shoals Road in Riverdale. A free shuttle service will be provided.

There will be school supplies, bounce houses, haircuts, games, food and music. Free backpacks are limited to two per household while supplies last. Attendees must show proof of residency.
