Elbert Richard "Bill" Cameron, Sr.
Mr. Elbert Richard "Bill" Cameron, Sr., age 101 of Stockbridge, passed away on August 16, 2019. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII. Mr. Cameron retired from Eastern Air Lines. Mr. Cameron was preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Mary C. Cameron, wife, Lurline Holt Cameron and a son, Elbert Richard "Rick" Cameron, Jr. He is survived by his children, Janet Cameron (George) Crawford of Alexander City AL, James Stanley "Stan" (Wilma) Cameron of Greensboro, GA; siblings, Jimmy (Jewell) Cameron of Jackson, Nona Ruth Ghent of Columbus, Betty Jo Williams of Marietta, Joyce Hethcox of Tallassee, AL; grandchildren, Trey Cameron, Cam (Monica) Cameron, Chris (Heather) Cameron, Scott Crawford, Brandy (Greg) Mihaly, Heather (Trevor) Ross and Brian (Salimah) Slusher; great grandchildren, Skylar Cameron, Chase Cameron, Lexie Cameron, Isabella Cameron, Tripp Cameron, Annie Cameron, Jake Cameron, Elliotte Crawford, Dylan Crawford, Madison Ross, Noah Ross and Ethan Slusher. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Jonesboro Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:15 p.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the church. Rev. Irvin Pearre will officiate. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park.
