Martha Carol Elrod (Taylor)
Martha Carol Elrod, age 72, Jonesboro, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019. She was a very active member of Living Word Lutheran Church and she was a prayer warrior. She was the owner/operator of Hairlines. Mrs. Elrod was President and Chairwoman of Georgia Hairdressers Association. Mrs. Elrod, a hair colorist, has taught color classes for Matrix, Allegretti, Sunglitz and continuing education classes at the University of Mississippi, University of Georgia and University of Florida. She was on the Educational Committee for Georgia for 15 years. She also worked with the ECO Master for 3 years. She cut hair for over 50 years. She was also the co-founder of Look Good Feel Good for Cancer Patients. She was preceded in death by her soulmate, Ken Johnson, who was a Bluegrass musician playing drums for the Kenny Neal Band. She is survived by her daughters, Heather Norton and her fiance, Leon Martin of Stone Mountain; Danielle Elrod of Atlanta; brothers, Rodney (Kietha) Neal of FL and Bill Neal; grandchild, Sierra Norton; niece, Angie Neal; nephews, Allen Neal and Ray. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, June 8, 2019 in the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM prior to the service. The family has requested your attire for the service to be as colorful as Mrs. Elrod's personality.
