Letter: State Bar extends condolences to family of Clayton County attorney G. Robert “Bob” Oliver

To the Editor,

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of longtime Jonesboro attorney G. Robert “Bob” Oliver on his recent passing.

During his distinguished legal career, which began in 1959, Mr. Oliver held numerous professional leadership positions and received two prestigious honors in his home community: an honorary Doctors’ Degree of Public Service in 2001 from Clayton State University, where a scholarship for legal studies is endowed in his name, and the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014 from the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Oliver was also an Army veteran and was active in his local church.

All Georgia lawyers and judges are grateful for Bob Oliver’s lifetime of service and are inspired by his many contributions toward promoting the cause of justice and upholding the integrity of the legal profession in our state.

Robert J. “Bob” Kauffman

President, State Bar of Georgia
