Dear Editor:

The following is an excerpt of a sermon credited to Dr. Adrian Rogers, the late pastor from Memphis, Tenn.:

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

This is exactly where the United States is today, because we the voter is or has been insane. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. We keep electing the same bunch over and over. My representative has been in Washington for over 30 years and if you check the names of all the House members and the senators, most have been there over 30 years, and this country is $16 billion in debt! Try to explain to your great grandchildren how they have got to pay that off. We need to throw all of them out of office and we need to start now. If there is an “I” after a person’s name, vote against them. If you think that there are two parties, D’s and R’s, you are living in dreamland. Put either one in a sack shake it up and pour one out and it does not make any difference which falls out.
