Around 8 p.m. on April 29 I found myself in the Emergency Room at Southern Regional Medical Center. I had driven myself there, parked and walked up to the window. I was immediately greeted and upon explaining my situation, I was taken immediately to the back and examined.

While I was there, I met caring and concerned people one after the other. They were quick, knowledgeable and very pleasant. The hospital was clean and updated. I spent about five hours there in an actual hospital emergency bedroom and was ultimately released and allowed to go home (huge relief to me and my family).

I have lived in Clayton County my entire 56 years and I have heard some “not so good” stories about Southern Regional, so I just wanted the public to know about my encounter. If I have go to the hospital again, I will not hesitate to use Southern Regional and I just wanted to say thank you to all the men and women who were so kind and worried about me during a scary time in my life.

Keep up the good work — Clayton County needs all of you!
