CARROLLTON — For the second straight year, Riverdale left Carrollton with a non-region loss, as the Trojans scored 35 unanswered points in a 35-6 win Friday night.
The Raiders jumped on Carrollton early with a 48-yard touchdown pass from Avaun Rucker to T.J. Moore. Yet, Carrollton scored the next 35 points and outgained Riverdale 354 to 274 on the night.
Rucker finished the night 20-of-30 for 185 yards and a touchdown. Derwin Burgess Jr. caught nine balls for 60 yards, while Moore added five catches for 64 yards.
Chris King led the defensive effort with 7.5 tackles and a forced fumble, which was recovered by Pearce Brown. Moore and Mike Scandrett each recorded interceptions.
Riverdale (2-1) will play at Miller Grove next Friday night.
