Tournament host Tiger Woods and seven other Top 10 players have committed to play in the Hero World Challenge, an annual tournament that benefits Woods' foundation, it was announced Wednesday.

A total of 16 players have pledged to play in the event, which will be held Dec. 4-7 at Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas. Two more players will be added as sponsor exemptions at a later date.

The event features a $3.5 million purse, with $1 million going to the winner.

Woods, who won the Masters, is ranked No. 9 in the world. Other top 10 golfers who will be part of the field are No. 3 Dustin Johnson, No. 4 Jon Rahm of Spain, No. 5 Justin Rose of England, No. 6 Patrick Cantlay, No. 7 Justin Thomas, No. 8 Bryson DeChambeau and No. 10 Xander Schauffele.

Top-ranked Brooks Koepka and No. 2 Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland aren't part of the field.

Other golfers who are part of the field include Tony Finau (No. 12), Webb Simpson (No. 13), Patrick Reed (No. 16), Rickie Fowler (No. 19), U.S. Open champion Gary Woodland (No. 20), Matt Kuchar (No. 21), Kevin Kisner (No. 27) and Bubba Watson (No. 32).

Rahm is the defending champion.

The tournament will conclude on a Saturday to help players who are traveling to the following week's Presidents Cup in Australia.
