Clayton State sits fifth overall entering day two of action.

Following three weeks off Clayton State men's golf shot a 289-284-573 and sophomore Javier Gonzalez (San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico) is tied for second at the Ninth Annual Matt Dyas Invitational after the first 36 holes of Day 1 on Monday, October 21.

Gonzalez shot a 69-68-137 and sits tied at 2-of-64 while senior Joseph Kim (Martinez, Ga.) is deadlocked in ninth at 71-70-141. Junior Raul Carbonell (Panama City, Panama) is tied for 31st (74-73-147) and followed by redshirt-sophomore Sam Hershoff (Naples, Fla.). The latter, in his first tournament as a Laker, is tied at 34th with a 75-73-148 while senior Ivan Emiliano (Cabo San Lucas, Mexico) rounds things out in a tie for 41st (76-76-152).

Host West Georgia leads the field with a 558 and is followed by No. 10 Lee (560), No. 15 Delta State (567) and Montevallo (572). The tournament will wrap up tomorrow, Tuesday, October 22 with the final 18 holes beginning at 9 a.m.
