With three days remaining before its regular-season MLS debut, Nashville SC has passed the 50,000 mark in tickets sold for Saturday's home game against Atlanta United FC.
Nashville SC is playing its home games at Nissan Stadium, home of the NFL's Tennessee Titans, but is planning to close the upper deck of the stadium for most games. It will be open Saturday, though, giving the club the potential to draw over 69,000 for the first game.
"Who knows, right? Weather looks good for Saturday," club CEO Ian Ayre said. "We're over 50,000. Any number is possible."
Nashville is one of two expansion teams in MLS this season along with Inter Miami CF, which makes its debut Sunday at Los Angeles FC.
Inter Miami CF will make its home debut March 14 against the Los Angeles Galaxy at its own 18,000-capacity stadium.
