Center Clint Capela could be traded by the Houston Rockets, who are openly shopping multiple veterans as general manager Daryl Morey attempts to reshape a roster to better support MVP candidate James Harden.
The New York Times reported Morey has had trade talks involving multiple veterans. The Athletic reported Monday night that Capela and even point guard Chris Paul, who has three years and $124 million left on his existing contract, are the primary veterans being discussed in potential deals.
Capela signed a five-year, $90 million contract prior to last season. Capela turned 25 in May, after averaging 16.6, 12.7 rebounds (fifth in the NBA) and 1.5 blocks per game in 2018-19.
Among teams thought to have interest in Capela are the New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, Charlotte Hornets and Portland Trail Blazers.
