As many as 23,000 Henry County residents were without power earlier this week. As of Friday afternoon, Georgia power is reporting 280 customers in Henry County are still waiting for their power to be restored. No outages were reported Friday for Henry Snapping Shoals EMC customers.

The city council discussed the possibility at its work session Monday, deciding to propose an ordinance to implement a 10 percent raise for each council member and the mayor. If approved, it would be the first time in 10 years the salaries of elected city officials had been altered.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for portions of North and Central Georgia, including Henry and Clayton counties. Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms are possible beginning Friday afternoon and continuing into the evening.
